Obituary of Joseph Anthony DiGerardo

Joseph Anthony DiGerardo, of Swan Lake, passed away on July 7, 2023. He was 69 years old.

Joseph was born in Ozone Park, NY on May 25, 1954 to Joseph A. DiGerardo and Ruth Pardi DiGerardo.  

A born hustler, Joe is remembered for his love of family, especially his grandchildren. A self-described Gavone, he was always on the hunt for a good meal, a good deal, a good J, and would tie them all in with stories from back in the day.  When his life caught up to him, his son Joseph came calling for him 11 years to the day of his own tragic passing.  Joe always had an angle and was a numbers guy, so his passing on 7/7 was no coincidence. It was in his words, “on the money.”

Joe is survived by his wife Annette DiGerardo; his daughter, Jennifer Hoover and her husband Matthew and their children Gianna and Dean; his daughter Stefanie Gallo and her husband Todd and their children Giuliana and Vito; his brother Gene DiGerardo and his wife Barbara; his brother John DiGerardo and his wife Carol; his sister, Sue Kress and her husband Richard; a special niece, Lindsey Shelton; nieces, nephews and many other family and friends throughout Sullivan County, New York City and beyond. He was predeceased by his son, Joseph A. DiGerardo III.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2023 from 2-5 pm at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY.
