Obituary of Maria Judith Gonzalez

Maria Judith “Juju” Gonzalez, of Liberty, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at the Care Center at Sunset Lake, Liberty, NY. She was 69.

She was the daughter of the late Dionisio and Ramona (Cruz) Gonzalez, born on November 10, 1953 in Puerto Rico.

Maria or "Judy" as she was mostly known as, was a beautiful soul who loved her family. She will be remembered as the “mother to all” as she raised not only her own children, but had a hand in bringing up her siblings and grandchildren. Judy truly enjoyed being around her family and they are what brought her the most joy in life. In her free time she enjoyed watching novellas, telling jokes, playing cards, dominoes, board games, cooking and coloring. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She will be extremely missed.

Judy leaves behind to cherish her memory, her two sons, Jose Salas (his wife Sharon), and Reggie Ocasio; grandchildren Cedric, Olivia, Jose Jr., Ramona, Bobby Jr., Hannah, Amelia, and Mia; seven great-grandchildren; siblings Elizabeth, Esther, Betty, Rosa, Dennis, Diane, and Barry; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her son Bobby Evans (Pumpkin) and baby brother Brian.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 14, 2023 from 11a-1p at Colonial-Ramsay Funeral Home, 275 S. Main Street, Liberty, NY 12754. A funeral service will be held at 1pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery.
