Obituary of Nancy A. Jordan

Nancy A. Jordan of Port Jervis passed away after a long courageous battle with cancer on July 18, 2023 at Garnet Health Medical Center. She was 71.

She was the daughter of the late Joseph Washousky and Angela Fela, born on June 10, 1952, in Liberty, NY.

She was a loving person that knew how to brighten everyone’s day. She had a special aura about her and a positive outlook on life that always made you feel good after talking to her. Many may remember her as an educator at Sullivan County BOCES where she started the Early Childhood Program. She dedicated countless hours to bettering all of the children that she came across throughout her career. She was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church of Port Jervis, where she frequently helped with the food pantry. She had many interests and hobbies throughout her life, such as reading, golfing, visiting the beach, cooking, swimming, drawing, and going to Florida for half the year. She always took pride in her appearance and carried herself with dignity and grace. She loved animals, especially dogs, Yorkies in particular. With everything she loved and enjoyed doing she had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren. She loved spending as much time as she could with them. 

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her Daughter Kristi Rubik and her husband Brandon, her grandchildren Benson and Aurora, her sister Susan Mootz, her longtime companion Vince Fratto, her nieces and nephews, Justin Mootz and his wife Kristen, and Kristina Carraccia and her husband Joey, her great nephews Luke and Brayden Mootz and Giuseppe and Anthony Carraccia, many cousins and a host of friends. 

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the generous doctors, nurses and support staff that had a hand caring for Nancy during her battle, from New York to Florida.

Visitation will be on Friday, July 21, 2023 at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788 from 4:00pm-6:00pm. A funeral service will be on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at the funeral home at 3:00pm. Interment will follow at Grahamsville Rural Cemetery.
