Obituary of Richard Wood

Richard Wood, of South Fallsburg, NY, passed away on August 27, 2023 at Westchester Medical Center. He was 61.

He was the son of the late Clyde and Viola (Zeininger) Wood, born on November 4, 1961 in Johnson City, NY.

Richard worked as a landscaper. In his free time he enjoyed being outdoors, camping and fishing. He loved the holidays, and getting to spend time with his family, especially for Christmas. He was a loving companion, step-father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his long time friend Karen Morris (Skip); step-children Crystal Zeininger (Bryan), Brandon Hinkley, Alicia and Christopher Gorrin; several grandchildren, including his special birthday-girl Ava Hinkley, who shared his birthdate and great-grandchildren; sister Dawn “Linda” Smith (Richard) as well as nieces Pamela Curry (Timothy) and Shanon Curry (Charles); nephew George Zeininger (Kami), Billy Coy (Florence) and Leroy Coy (Ivonne) and his nephews Bryan Zeininger and Jason Coy who were very special to Richard as well as several other nieces and nephews; and his two best friends Wayne Yenick and Larry Banks, Jr; and his canine companion Krypto.

He was predeceased by his siblings Patricia Wood, Barbara Coy, Clyde Wood Jr., and Nancy Bush; and nephew Richie Shaver. 

A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2023 from 2 to 4pm at Colonial-Bryant Funeral Home, 29 Pearl Street, Livingston Manor, NY 12758.
