John Burton Greene of Grahamsville, NY passed away on January 25, 2024. He was 57.
John was born on February 6, 1966 in Bayshore, NY to Thomas Greene and Meryl Redlein.
After high school, he worked various jobs in the Sayville area and eventually followed his sister to Upstate New York. Following in the footsteps of his grandfather, Mark Redlein and his Uncle Burt Redlein, John settled into a career of carpentry. He excelled at wood construction, woodworking, furniture making and all aspects of home remodeling. John was always ready to lend a helping hand and never turned away a friend. He was both a cat and a dog lover. He also was a grill master and legend has it that John could roast a mean pig barbeque.
John is survived by his mother, Meryl Dorothy Greene, of Sayville, New York; his sister, Kathleen Greene, of Catskill, New York; his brother, Thomas Mark Greene, of Blue Point, New York; and many cousins from both sides of his family in residence throughout the country.
John was predeceased by his father, Thomas Michael Greene who passed in 2013 and his older brother, Michael Thomas Greene who passed away in 2006.
A visitation is to be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 from 2pm - 4pm at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788.
An addititonal visitation is to be held on Thursday, February 1, 2024 from 2pm-4pm at and under the care of Raynor-D'Andrea Funeral Home, 245 Main Street, West Sayville, NY 11796.
The internment at St. Lawrence Cemetery, 401 Lakeland Ave., Sayville NY 11782 is to follow on Friday, February 2, 2024
