Chris and I are so sad to learn of Joe's passing. He was a source of knowledge and wisdom for both of us. I remember him best with his grey ponytail and sparkling blue eyes that always seemed to match his faded T-shirt, sitting on our Claryville porch, winding up a shaggy dog story. Joe's vegetable and flower gardens were where our children first learned the joy of a freshly pulled carrot. He was good at setting young people straight when they got silly ideas. We loved him, and are shocked and saddened that he's gone. We send our sincere condolences to Barbara and Joe's family. The world has lost a true original.
