I send heartfelt condolences to the family of Joel Fisk on behalf of those who worked with him at the Stream Management Program of the NYC Department of Environmental Protection. We all knew Joel as perhaps the kindest person we have had the opportunity to work with. While we could speak of his contributions to the protection of the environment and conservation of all things in nature, we know that most importantly we have lost a great colleague and wonderful friend. We will remember many warm summer days walking Delaware headwater streams with Joel as he led the Conservation District survey team. He was quiet, yet had a great sense of humor, gentle yet strong, committed to the effort and determined get the job done right. We were all honored to work with Joel and will long remember his contributions. We are sorry for your great loss and wish you peace.
