Obituary of Ruth E. McKeon

On the morning of December 30, 2022, Ruth Eleanor McKeon of Woodbourne, NY died at the age of 81.
Ruth was born to Lee and Irene Kile in 1941. She graduated from Tri-Valley High School third in her class in June of 1958, and retired from the same school as a confidential secretary after many years of service. She was a devoted Catholic at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Woodbourne.
In June of 1963, she married Kevin Francis McKeon, and together raised two children, Sean and Colleen on there horse farm in Hasbrouck, NY.
Ruth was an avid bird watcher, loved butterflies, horses and all animals big or small. She spent countless hours making her home beautiful inside and out with flowers. She loved going on trips and spending time with her family and friends. Her greatest love was her grandchildren. A work ethic was second to none, a good heart, artistic, happy and sociable were only a few of her qualities. Ruth will be missed by many but will live on through her family and friends. On the day of her passing, baby boy Bryson, her first great grandchild was born. Son of Brent and Danielle McKeon. The lord is with us.
Ruth was predeceased by her husband Kevin, her brother Jim Kile, her sister Regina Osterhout and her parents Lee and Irene Kile. She is survived by her son Sean McKeon and his wife Lynn, and their children, Brent McKeon, and wife Danielle and new baby Bryson, Zachary Connor and Logan McKeon. Her daughter Colleen Osterhout and fiancé Aaron Tetlak and grandson Trevor Osterhout. Along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788 from 4-7:00pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 6317 State Route 42 Woodbourne, NY 12788 at 10:00am. Internment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Woodbourne, NY.
