My grand mother was one of the most kind hearted women you would ever meet. She never judged someone for there past, she would say I can’t judge someone when one of my grand children did the same thing. She had a heart of gold. I’m gonna miss her singing happy birthday every year, just calling to say I love you, or her calling to ask how much money do I have in the bank. I curse like a truck driver and she would always say Latesha Pearl I didn’t raise you to have a mouth like that or when I would say the most inappropriate thing and she’d say My god latesha what’s wrong with you. I’m making a memory garden by the lake for you nan so you’ll always have ur spot to look at the lake and just be at peace. I’m gonna make my house just as beautiful as your during the holidays in memory of you and Fred it’ll be the best house around. I love you nanny well always love and miss you I’ll make sure the kids always remember you and we’ll talk about u all the time

From Helen, Mom's sawdust sister.. We grew up together played, fought and cried together. When you moved away i was lost. We always thought of each other as sisters. Our kids grew up then I found you again. We made plans for August to spend a week together back in our home town to go BACK IN OUR PAST AND GET A LITTLE WILD BUT WE DIDN'T SEE IT COMING AND NOW I'VE LOST YOU FOR GOOD. THIS IS THETHIRD CRUELEST THING THAT HAS HAPPENED TO ME. WELL RIP SISTER. YOUR VERY SPECIAL AND I'LL ALWAYS LOVE AND MISS YOU SISTER

i don’t have many memories with nan but over this past summer we went to her house and we were all sitting outside while skylar played in the pool, i remember skylar calling for me to look and doing something silly and just looking over and seeing this big beautiful smile on nans face. she was the most beautiful soul anyone could ever meet and i wish i had more experiences with her.

Miss Lillian was amazing. She was always there, giving her love knowledge and help to everyone that would need it. She always looked out for all the children no matter what everyone came before Miss Lillian. I will always remember all the fun memories and times sitting down on Fred’s deck, watching the children play as me and her would sit there and drink a nice cold glass of tea to Lillian’s family she’s an amazing lady, and will always be a lady RIP, Rena , Rodriguez, and family

As a child my dream was to swim with my mom, but my mom was afraid of the water. So we went on a vacation to Busch Gardens in Virginia and my mom in the wave pool with me. We put a life jacket in the front and back of her, and by the time we were done she was all the way in the deep end of the pool and it’s me, that day my childhood dream came true. My mom is my hero, she worked a full time job, put herself through nursing school, raised 6 kids on her own, and we never lived in any assistance. That is a true hero!! My mom, two sisters (Pam and Vickie), and niece (Dana) came up to Indiana in 2016, when I had my blood clots, when I needed my mommy the most. They stayed for 3 days, in those 3 days my mom got to see my oldest son (Bud) and grandson (Jacob).

I have so many memories with my beautiful mom.. I don't know which one to pick. I guess I'll go way back to when I was in elementary school. We took a trip to New York City to the Statue of Liberty.. it was really hot that day, the elevator was broke down. so we had to use the stairs. It was not a pretty sight by the time we got to the top lol. I don't remember a lot from when I was in elementary school but for some reason I can remember that day like it was yesterday. I think it was because my mom worked very hard, long hours and she took the time to go on a field trip with me and that meant so much to me..She always did what was best for her family..

In 2004 Nan and a few of the aunts came to Indiana for my brother Travis graduation. We all went and spent so much time shopping and cooking to get ready for Travis graduation party. Nan was so proud of him for graduating. He struggled threw school due to having down syndrome and we didnt know if it was possible for him to even graduate. But he did and nan was so so proud of him. While in Indiana we had a really bad storm that came threw the town we lived in. A TORNATO was gonna hit. I was almost 9 month pregnant and my step dad yelled at us to follow him so that we could get to the underground shelter. As we went to run out after him and Nan grabbed me and pulled me backwards to keep me from running after him. We all went to hide in bedrooms and Nan was so scared and she fell onto of my belly. Once the storm was over Nan was so freaked out and scared she hurt my baby (Acelynn) so I had to go to the hospital to get checked out.

One of the very first memories I have of with Great Nan, when we were younger she got Serenity and I a swimming pool and a bunch of floates for the pool. Also, we didn’t always talk or see each other but when we’d talk we always talked for hours about nursing, because of her I’m furthering my career into nursing to carry on her memory. The last one I can really remember is, when we came down to New York for the 4th of July and after years I got to see her again and we talked about nursing and everything about life, we took pictures in my cap and gown and it was one of the best days to have pictures with my family that I don’t have many pictures with.

Nan is a beautiful lady that love everyone. She didn’t care about anyone’s past, and knew everyone deserved a second chance. She had a heart of gold. She would do anything for anyone and would never take no for a answer. She will always have a big place in my heart. Love you nan. Fly high.
