Barry it’s Mahoney, may this message find you . I’m sitting here thinking of the many good times we got to spend together with the TOP’s unit . We had many challenging cases but we always came through . You were a coworker, friend who was always willing to give advice and to extend yourself . In retrospect, I look back in my career and without a doubt and I repeat without doubt it was a pleasure to have known and worked with you and the TOP’s unit . In fact , the years that we had worked together it was the highlight of my career . If I could only play back time as the song goes , this would be one of them . Davis you were a good man and a hard act to follow . Barry I will always remember you as you’re in many of my stories at parole !!! To the Davis family, my deepest condolences.

I remember Barry Davis as a loyal and dedicated civil servant and peace officer with whom I had the privilege of sharing the same name. Barry was fiercely committed, capable, competent and cool under fire. He will be sorely missed! Rest In Peace and Power Warrior! God knows your name!

My dude, what can I say? I thank you for the countless conversations you and I had over the years. You gave me tons of advice on how to deal with everyday life and I appreciated that. Most importantly, being a listening ear anytime I needed to vent. You will be missed. Until the next time my friend.

We were day ones Cuz, from the time you were 4 years old. You grew not only as a friend and family, but a great man. Just hearing all of the love coming from friends. You will always be in my thoughts and prayers. I am proud of the indelible mark you left on your community. My heart sunk when I heard of your passing but I am glad that the last 6 years we made it a point to reconnect. Give mom and pops a great big hug. Until we meet again rest well Cuz and thanks for a job well done. Love you Fam.

Our deepest condolences to the Davis family. Your family has always been loving, thoughtful and helpful to the community, especially Woodridge. It was an honor to not only watch our children grow up together but to watch Barry thrive as a dedicated father to his son. Praying God gives the family daily strength.

Thank you for giving me courage to be the best that I can be. I remember in 1995 when I seen you at the projects in Woodridge. And I told you about how hard you played. And you said “Wow, you remembered”.
Yes I did. Not to many people can say that they have met and lived with a true Hero. Thank you.

Barry,
I remember those quiet times before games in the locker room, practice was over, talking was done, we laced up our shoes and went to war.

Barry, you were such a fierce competitor on the wood floor and the asphalt. I enjoyed watching you play and eventually playing with you indoor /outdoor activity. Basketball was a part of the Fallsburg mystique, and you mastered it with the gift God gave you. Reared in a small NY community, you made us proud of your personal accomplishments. You inspired many of us who dream big. I enjoyed our conversations during our retirement. We shared good stories in the law enforcement field. To Albertha, Charles, and Greg, and the entire Davis family, may God comfort you and give you strength. Dodge City, Mt. Dale, So. Fallsburg, Fallsburg, Woodbourne, and Hurleyville, we may have lost a hometown hero, but Barry will remain in our hearts, and we should always cherish the memories. God bless.

Barry, a soul beautiful in every essence, was indeed an angelic presence graced on us from heaven. His love and kindness nurtured many hearts while his wit and intelligence ignited countless curious minds. Barry urged us all to live passionately and adventurously, fueling our spirit with boundless optimism. Through selflessness we found courage; through wisdom we forged paths. A beloved figure to my children too, exemplifying why life should be lived to its fullest - for you never truly appreciate a wellspring until the whale runs dry.
