Obituary of Barry Raymond Davis

Barry Raymond Davis, son of the late Raymond Davis, and Dorothy Davis, was born on July 3, 1958, and lived in Sullivan County, NY, along with his sister Albertha B. Davis, brothers Charles Davis and Gregory Davis.
He attended Elementary and Junior High School in Fallsburg, NY and graduated from Fallsburg Central High School in June of 1976. At an early age, Barry was introduced to the world of sports, with emphasis on basketball, where he played for the Fallsburg Central High School as one of their outstanding players.
Barry continued his education at Buffalo State from 1976 to 1981, on a full scholarship, graduated with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice in 1981. Barry continued to play basketball in various leagues throughout Buffalo, New York City and Sullivan County. Thereby, developing many lifelong friendships.
Barry was also blessed with a daughter, Barchaniqua Davis and a son Brandon Davis.
Barry continued the family profession of working in the public sector by serving as a Case Worker for the Division of Youth until he was called and attended the New York State Division of Parolees Academy, in which he graduated on April 8, 1988. He served as a Parole Officer, until he retired in July of 2020.
Barry loved fishing, playing and watching sports, preferably basketball.
On Friday, May 17, 2024, our Lord and Savior called Barry Home. He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his daughter Barchaniqua Davis, his son Brandon Davis, 5 grandchildren, sister Albertha B. Davis, Brothers Gregory Davis and Charles Davis: cousins Carol Houston and LaRonn Houston, and a host of friends and coworkers.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788 from, 10:00am-12:00pm. A funeral service will begin at the funeral home at 12:00noon with Rev, Julius Collins officiating. Interment will follow at Glen Wild Cemetery, Glen Wild, NY.
